I have quietly practiced “Service of the Heart”, for many years. It is designed for both animals and their human companions. “Service of the Heart” is for all animals that are either in physical distress, suffering from medical disease, or recovering from surgery as well as those who are suffering from depression, confusion or grief due to the loss of an animal or human companion. It is also especially designed for those who are known to be in the process of passing.
For animals in physical or mental distress, Reiki is applied. Reiki, pronounced “Ray-key”, comes from the Japanese words “rei”, meaning spirit, and “ki”, meaning energy. It is translated as “universal life energy”. Reiki is ideal with animals because it is gentle and noninvasive, causes no stress, discomfort or pain. Animals respond intuitively to Reiki’s power to bring comfort and/or relief from emotional stress as well as physical trauma. For animals that are healthy, Reiki helps to maintain their health, enhances relaxation and provides an emotional sense of peace and contentment. Reiki is not meant as a substitute for veterinary care.
For animals in the process of passing, Reiki is a gentle method to provide comfort, relief from fear and anxiety and ease the transition to death. I will help guardians make the decision about timing for euthanasia and will accompany the guardian for the procedure if asked. The specific approach is different for each animal and will be discussed in a consultation session with the animal’s guardian.
“Service of the Heart” is my way of giving back to the animals all that I have received from them during my life time. I am not a “channel”, a “healer”, a “psychic” or “saint”. I am a comforter, a facilitator for the soul of both the human care giver/companion and his or her creature soul-friend. It is what I was born into this life to do. I have assisted the ill, distressed and dying before and believe in a life force flowing through all beings, all things. The animals themselves guide me in what I can do for their well being. I work from that, create from there.
If you wish to discuss the needs of any kind of animal in your care or in the care of friends or family members, please feel free to contact me. Rates are based on individual needs.
